Program Description: Our study of birds often focuses on identifying species. What can we learn by stepping back to view the world of birds at the Family level? Bird families give us insights into the evolution and ecology of birds, Illustrated with Rich's photos of birds from around the world, including local representatives of some families, this program will be a fun interactive learning experience.
Speaker Biography: Rich Howard has been birding since the early 1970’s at home and on all seven continents. He teaches Beginning Birding classes at Effie Yeaw Nature Center and elsewhere and co-leads Beginning Birding trips for Sacramento Audubon Society.
