Learn how the Valley Nisenan lived pre-1830s during this naturalist-guided tour of our replica Valley Nisenan village and Nature Study Area trails, highlighting native plant and animal resources traditionally used. Students will also explore and interpret replica Valley Nisenan artifacts.
This is a 1-hour and 45-minute (105-minute) program at the Effie Yeaw Nature Center for up to 35 students and 8 adults (including the teacher, aide(s) and chaperones). Parking passes included. Please eat snack/lunch before or after your program as the program does not included a schedule meal period.
This program will touch upon the following Common Core State Standards (CCSS):
CCSS: HSS-3.2, HSS-4.2, HSS-5.2, HSS-5.3
Parking passes are included for participants, and for any drivers who transport students but who are not attending the program.
Each program is limited to 35 students and 8 adults (including the teachers, aide(s) and chaperones). Program may be repeated (sequentially) on the same day.
Closed-toe shoes required for all participants.
Programs are rain or shine, except in the case of dangerous weather conditions.
