Gold Discovery | Classroom Visit
Grades: 3 - 5
Eureka! At your school, students will pan for gold and participate in a visual historical telling of the discovery of gold in California, as well as its impacts on society and the environment. This program includes a PowerPoint in your classroom and a gold panning activity outside.
This is a 75 minute program for up to 35 students, or one class per program.
This program will touch upon the following Common Core State Standards (CCSS):
CCSS: HSS-4.3, HSS-4.4.2, HSS-5.3
Each program is limited to 35 students, or one class. If more than 2 programs are needed in the same day, please contact Brena at brenas@sacnaturecenter.net or 916-875-3962 to arrange a schedule.
Teacher must be present during program.
Access to water in an outdoor area for the gold panning activity.
If your school is located more than 30 miles round trip from the Nature Center, there will be an additional fee to cover the extra travel time/costs.
